Hi there new client! A little nervous? I am here for you and I promise to be gentle and not stress you out. I want to do the best job for you and help you balance your life. Think of this as something really positive that is going to make a difference. The old way of behavior just isn’t working, or maybe a new problem or situation has you off your game. I have been helping people for over twenty years with great success; I am honored that you came to me so let’s get started.
I will be giving you many forms to fill out. Sorry, this is not my favorite part of the process, but it is important that I know about you, you will be filling out health profiles and I will learn about what is in your body, what you eat and drink, how you sleep, your level of emotional and physical pain. Everything is confidential and will be customized to meet your needs.
l. POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY MODEL: I have a doctorate in Health Psychology, and Marriage and Family counseling, but I choose to go with a coaching model from Martin Seligman, psychologist and father of modern Positive Psychology. Instead of working for a long time “on what is wrong with you” I would like to see what “is working for you, your strengths, and what you want to change.” You will find your way and I will be right there coaching you through the change in your life. It starts with Abraham Maslow’s model of hierarchy of needs. Many groups and motivation speakers from Deepak Chopra to Wayne Dyer to school systems have used Maslow’s model and so does Martin Seligman.
2. AMINO ACID PROTOCOL: I am certified through Julia Ross’s Neuro Nutrient Institute. She is the best nutritional therapist that understands the therapeutic benefits of amino acids better than anyone I have found. Pick up one of her books, The Mood Cure or The Diet Cure and you will understand what great training I have and how you will benefit. Together we find out if your body and mind are in balance and correct it through a diet plan and amino acids to nourish the brain, feed the body and make you feel so much better. It is such a relief to know that your suffering is not “all in your mind” but it is often physical. Through more testing and self-reports, we will figure out what you need to get rid of anxiety, depression or cravings for substances. The good news! It doesn’t take that long to feel a difference, to feel better and once you are in balance, you don’t have to take Aminos forever!
3. HYPNOSIS: This puts all the therapy and amino benefits together. I am on a consultant level with the American Society of Hypnosis and have learned that hypnosis makes everything work together on a conscious and subconscious level. This is a form of relaxation. All the information that you received in the beta or fully alert state plus a nice dose of calming Aminos as you drift off to my “elevator music” on warm blankets on a recliner and you block off everything. You will go on vacation from your problems and enter the “theta” state of your mind that is between being asleep and awake. You will “float.” You are completely in control and you will not do anything that you would do in your awake state. If my suggestions make sense to you on a deep level, you will take them into your subconscious; if you are not ready or you don’t agree, no change will take place. It is really you are doing your own self-hypnosis. Most of my clients go into the theta state on the first visit, but sometimes it takes two or three times, it really doesn’t matter, you will get there with me, and on your own. If you are long distance, we can do this with you on your bed or recliner over the phone. The effect lasts for days and most clients love this part of the treatment plan more that all “the exhausting talking!”
The overall goal is to give you tools to change your behavior in the shortest period of time. Usually 8 to 10 sessions for a major shift, so if this sounds like something that you would be interested in, give me a call, I would love to work with you.
